What do you need?

The PSAT 8/9, for students in grades 8 and 9. The PSAT/NMSQT is a different test and is the one used for National Merit scholarship qualification. PSAT Pal focuses on reading, writing, and math practice for the 8/9.

About the PSAT 8/9 from College Board

Tap Start practice. Choose an answer, then tap Check to see the key step. Open See the steps or See why for the full explanation. You can add a name or nickname later in Settings. Scratch paper and a calculator can help.

Yes. Tap Pause, then Save and close. Tap Continue practice when you return. Regular practice, explanations, history, and recaps all work offline.

Timed practice appears after five regular sets. You’ll see the question count and time allowance before starting. Switching apps pauses the timer, but closing or restarting PSAT Pal loses an unfinished timed set. Choose End to save the answers you’ve completed.

Keep the app open, check that your device has free storage, and tap Retry saving. If the app says an existing save could not be opened safely, the original file has been preserved. Check for an app update or ask an adult to contact support before deleting anything.

Open Settings and choose Delete all practice data. This cannot be undone. The privacy policy explains backups and shared copies.

Open See the steps or See why, then tap “Something look wrong?” to preview the question ID and app version. Ask a parent or teacher to review it, then choose Share question details if you want to pass it along. Please describe what looks wrong before emailing us. No names or answers are added to the report.
